Athletic Award Criteria/Standards & Recommendations

As always, the standards and criteria listed below are applicable only to student-athletes who complete a season in good standing as determined by and at the discretion of the head coach.

NON-VARSITY

Freshman or first-year participant (first sport)

• “UC” patch
• Numerals

VARSITY

Freshman or first-year participant (first sport)

• “UC” patch
• Numerals
• Varsity athletic chevron (red center, blue border)

Second and subsequent year participant

• Varsity athletic chevron (red center, blue border)

SCHOLAR ATHLETE

First athletic season earned each school year

• Scholar Athlete patch

Subsequent athletic seasons earned each school year

• Academic chevron (blue center, red border)

Athletic Jacket Decoration Recommendations

“UC” patch – left chest

First name – right chest

Numerals – right arm

Varsity athletic chevrons – left arm

Last name – top, center back

Scholar Athlete patch and academic chevrons – back, under last name (patch and chevrons from same academic year should be placed together with chevron attached to bottom of patch)

TEC & IHSAA patches – back
